Privacy Policy
How Tradie Code Pty Ltd, operator of Newcastle EV Charger Group, collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information.
Newcastle EV Charger Group is a lead engine (brand) operated by Tradie Code Pty Ltd (ABN 16 700 500 349). In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean Tradie Code Pty Ltd.
We respect your privacy and handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what we collect through newcastleevchargers.com.au and the Newcastle EV Charger Group phone number 02 4092 9490, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it.
Information we collect
When you request a quote using the form on this website, we collect:
- Your name
- Your mobile phone number
- Your vehicle brand
- Your suburb or area
With each enquiry we also automatically record:
- The page on this website you submitted the form from, and the page that referred you to it
- Your browser type (user agent)
- Campaign tags in the page address (for example utm_source or utm_campaign), if present
- The date and time of your enquiry
When you call 02 4092 9490, the call is connected through a call-tracking service. We record the number you are calling from (unless you withhold it), the number you called, the date and time, and the call status and duration. If you email us, we collect your email address and anything you include in your message.
You do not have to give us your details, but if you don't we may not be able to respond to or manage your enquiry.
Spam protection
Our quote form includes a hidden spam trap that people cannot see but automated spam programs often fill in. If a submission fills in the spam trap, it is not sent as an enquiry. We keep a private copy of that blocked submission (the details entered in the form, the page, the date and time, and your browser type) for up to 30 days, so we can check that genuine enquiries are not being blocked by mistake. That copy can also include the address of the website that referred you to us and any campaign (UTM) tags in the link you used. After 30 days it is deleted automatically. We do not store your IP address with these records. Only our administrators can access them, and we do not use them for marketing.
How we use your information
- To receive and manage your enquiry about a home EV charger installation and, where appropriate, refer it to a suitable independent contractor who can quote for and carry out the work
- To contact you by phone or SMS about your enquiry
- To detect and prevent spam and misuse of our forms and phone number, including checking that genuine enquiries are not blocked by our spam protection
- To measure and improve our website and advertising
- To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations
We receive and manage enquiries; we do not prepare quotes or carry out installation work ourselves.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not add you to a marketing list without your consent, and you can ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
Who we share your information with
- An independent contractor. Where appropriate, we may refer your enquiry to a suitable independent contractor servicing your area so they can contact you, quote for the work and, if you agree, carry out the installation.
- Service providers. Our website hosting and database providers, our call-tracking and SMS provider, and Google (analytics and ad measurement, see below). They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
- Anyone we are required or authorised to disclose it to by law.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses Google tags (Google Analytics and the Google Ads tag) to measure clicks on our ads and enquiries, and to help us understand how visitors use the site. They collect information such as the pages you view, your device and browser, an approximate location, and a cookie or device identifier.
When you successfully submit a quote request, a conversion event is sent to Google Ads so we can measure our advertising. This event records that a submission occurred and the page address. It does not include your name, phone number or the details of your enquiry.
You can control cookies in your browser settings and opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Storage and security
Enquiries and call details are stored in our own lead-management system, which we use to receive, manage and route enquiries. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Enquiries are sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and access is limited to people who need it to handle your enquiry. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and call records for as long as we reasonably need them to respond to you, provide the services you ask for, and meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations. When we no longer need your information, we delete or de-identify it. Blocked spam-trap submissions are kept for no more than 30 days (see Spam protection).
Access and correction
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first so we can investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Contact us
For privacy questions, access or correction requests, or to ask us to stop contacting you, call 02 4092 9490 or email hello@tradiecode.com.au. You can also reach us through our Contact page.
